Hedge Bet
featuring Gin Caulfield
"Over 50 and still packing heat...."
Is it a reckless bet on the ponies or a high
stakes gamble in the stock market that leads
to five deaths and the return of Gin Caulfield
to her former profession as a private investigator?
Deirdre Delvecchio, the all-business wife
of self-made millionaire, Donald Delvecchio,
turns up dead at the racetrack. Hot tempered
Phil Lester told her to bet heavy on a longshot.
Suave Paul Bradshaw said he'd loan her the
money. Deirdre didn't take either man's advice.
Ginger Caulfield overheard both conversations.
The grieving husband asks Gin to get back
into the detective business and find out
who killed Deirdre. His alibi: Donald was
with another woman when his wife was murdered.
The next day, Donald Delvecchio drops another
bombshell. Ginger's husband, Fred, says,
"Here we go, again."
